TN SSLC Exam Pattern: Very soon students of 10th class in the state of Tamil Nadu gonna give their Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Board exams and the students are ready to face them with their wholesome preparation.
Already the exam application process has been started and the schools are helping their respective students to apply for the SSLC Board exams.
TN SSLC Exam Pattern 2020 (Scheme of Marks)
In this concern, students need the exact scheme of marks regarding the Board exams to prepare as per plan. TN DGE has released the Notification on total exam details which include the rules, eligibility to apply and Applying procedure along with the exam pattern including all the Languages and subjects. So students can have a look at this exam pattern and subject wise pass marks to be scored.
TN DGE Uniform Examination system in Tamil Nadu:
It is to be noted for the students studying in 10th class and 12th class, state Government need to conduct the exam with the same question paper throughout the state. This comes after the Uniform System of Education The Government of Tamilnadu issued G.O.Ms No.21, School Education (Q) Department released on 1st February 2010.
This is implemented as Uniform System of Government Education in Tamil Nadu for all students studying in Government, private, corporate, Government aided Self-financing and Anglo-Indian Schools. SSLC latest pattern exams have been conducted from 2012 in the state since then.
TN DGE 10th class Exam Pattern 2020:
In the curriculum of 10th class, there are 3 Languages and 3 Subjects which the students need to give the exams and pass them to promote Higher Secondary education. Each subject carries 100 marks and hence the total marks are 600.
Students need to pass each subject with at least 35 Marks to get promoted. Only Science subject has both Theoretical and Practical divisions where the Theory part consists of 75 marks and practical exam consists of 25 marks.
Optional Language is the Language 3 paper where the student is given the freedom to choose the Language. Generally, schools prefer a particular language that the majority of the students choose to appoint a teacher who teaches that language. Here is the exam pattern or scheme of marking.

Marks secured in Optional Language will not be taken into account for declaration of a Pass. There are 2 grades namely P: PASS and F: FAIL.

Eligibility to write the exam:
According to G.O.Ms.No.1906, Education Department on date 22nd August 1977, the students should have attained an age of 14 years by the first day of the month of the start of examinations (Eg. March) that year.
TN DGE 10th class exam fees:
In order to apply for the SSLC Exams, students need to pay Rs 115 to the schools where the schools consolidate all this amount and pay to Government account.
Examination fee includes the examination fees as well as the Marks certificate along with service charges. By the end of the application period schools need to remit this amount into Government account. Here is the distribution of amount.
- Examination Fee: Rs.100
- Mark Certificate Fee: Rs.10
- Service Charges Fee: Rs.05
- Total: Rs.115
